Instead of rigid poses, I give couples small prompts that create natural movement — walk slowly toward me, whisper something funny, forehead touch and breathe.
Movement removes the stiffness that comes from 'posing' and lets genuine expressions surface. I also shoot in bursts during these prompts, because the best frame is often the one right before or after the 'perfect' pose — the imperfect, real laugh.
Giving couples something to do with their hands (adjusting a jacket, playing with hair) also removes the classic 'what do I do with my hands' anxiety instantly.
